bellewood acres

visiting bellewood acres is my favorite fall time activity. i love riding around in the golf carts, and touring the orchard. we never leave without some tasty fall treats- carmel apples, cookies or fresh apple cider. honey crisp apples are my favorite.

cruisin' in the golf cart.
i had to capture the beauty of my favorite fall fruit.

yum.

cooling off at the river

we also took parker on walk to the river. she's always seemed a little hesitant in water but she throw caution to the wind at the river. she got right in. we were the only ones on the river that morning so she was able to run free. not typical because she's not very good yet at coming when she's called. her nose tends to get the better of her.

parker enjoying some freedom.

drive inn movie

this summer we discovered the drive inn theater in oak harbor. it was a lot of fun and we were able to take parker. she enjoyed her time and whatever treats she could convince us to share with her. above is the view from the back of the truck...our toes and parkers head. :)

scrapbooking, card making and paper playing...

i've been doing some scrapbooking lately. getting the creative juices flowing and having some fun. my goal is to create cards for all occasions. i thought i would share a few samples.

using lawn fawn stamps sets: quinn's abc and cruising through life.

i have learned to do rossettes and become quite the fanatic.

i used some old bug stickers that i've kept treasured for years. i used quinn's abc for the lettering.

i used the lunar lights stamp set from lawn fawn. i've become a huge fan of their stamps!

it's only been a year since our first post...almost.

so i'm not so good at this blogging thing. still trying to figure it out . not just what to post but the technical aspect alone...ugh!  granted, i haven't spent too much time wanting to figure it out. it's hard to find the motivation when you don't have too many profound things to share. i've decided to stick to simple for now.

this month has been a month of adventures. pretty exciting considering we are only in the first week of july. :)

we purchased a new car- a ford escape. nothing fancy but definitely a bonus. i'll have to post pictures later once i take some. it'll be handy as we've been trying to manage three different schedules with one car. it's has room enough to haul things and provide a cozy place for parker at the same time.

i got my first pedicure. my tootsies are soft and cute. i went with a friend and enjoyed the visit. my ticklish toes did well. i was a little concerned about clocking someone in the head in a knee jerk reaction but no one was injured during the experience. i left with a flower on my toes and a smile on my face.

parker experienced her first 4th of july celebration and did pretty well...as long as we were in the house. we attempted to take her on a walk but the sights and sounds were a bit overwhelming. once we were back inside the house she curled up on the couch and went to sleep.

i have once again gone through another transition in jobs. i was recently hired as the outreach coordinator for bellingham technical college. a new job is always a little stressful but hopefully it won't take too long to settle in. i'm still at btc, which i love and now i'm working (back home) in student services. student services is a passion of mine. i'm truly grateful for the experiences i had in instruction but excited to be on a new adventure.

evan and i are still serving in the nursery in the everson ward. evan was recently asked to serve as the ward financial clerk. he's doing double duty. i have informed all that evan is not allowed to leave me in the nursery. i need him more than they know. he does great with the kids and comforts the screamers.

well, i wanted to start with a short update. i promise more to come...to all our 'readers' out there. lol!

entering the world of blogs...

we're here! finally. i decided it was time. so much has happened in that last year and it's a challenge to keep friends and family up to date on the latest. blogging has become the answer.

so here is our last year in a snapshot...

* evan and i bought a house out in nooksack, wa.
* evan is the scout leader and i am serving in the relief society presidency.
* my mom is now living with us.
* we are both still working full time and for the most part enjoying our work.
* we've recently become "social" hosting dinners and game nights- amazing, huh!
* sasha is still with us and striking fear into all our guests.
and last but not least...
* we have become the proud new owners of a puppy- parker (who is a girl).

i know this was a quick breakdown. but that's it for now...don't worry there will be more to come.
